Scripps

We got a sweet visit from my brother Greg down here in San Diego a couple weekends ago. He was on a four day break (lucky) from Westmont and decided to spend it with us! We spent the weekend driving up and down the coast looking for waves, eating acai, pizza, and mexican (per usual) and overall just got to spend some much needed sibling time. I was able to snag a few pictures of Alex on his hand-shaped Paipo and Greg on his new John Wesley board out at Scripps.

Jewlery

I have a penchant for simple jewelry. I'm not usually one to go for big statement pieces (although I do have one or two for when the mood hits!) but for more my everyday accessory, you'll usually find one, if not all of these lovely pieces.
The bracelets are hands down my favorite.. they were both gifts from my boyfriend, and the lock bracelet was what got me wanting to incorporate jewelry into an everyday thing. I actually just received this sweet Love bracelet for valentines day! I've been wanting something like it for quite awhile now, and he totally surprised me! They're both so perfect for going with every single item I have in my closet.
I have never really liked watches (mainly because I always got my dads way-too-big-for-my-wrist hand me downs...) but I was immediately converted when I saw this Rose Gold Michael Kors watch last year. How freaking lucky was I to receive it from my boyfriends family as a graduation present! Now I no longer have an excuse for why I'm late since this beauty almost never leaves my wrist.
And last but not least, while I have many many rings, these two always seem to find themselves on my fingers more than the others I have.. I bought them both last summer at a boutique in Costa Mesa called Bella Bleu, and have been wearing them ever since.
I mainly love all these pieces because I can wear them however I want, in whatever combination I like. Pieces so simple can go a long way, and never go out of style!

Young Doho Days

Vday weekend

I've seriously been so lucky this month so far! The last two weekends have been full of fun with the perfect amount of down time. To start, Cody and I made Acai Bowls on Saturday to kick off a day of errands. Frick these things are so good, I could eat one every day for every meal
Then yesterday, we celebrated Valentines Day. Cody planned everything and I gotta say, this guy knows me so well. Started the day off with breakfast at Pipes in Cardiff, then on to the Swamis gardens (which are so beautiful and peaceful, you HAVE to check it out!) then a little beach exploring in Del Mar and at Blacks, sunset and sushi dinner in La Jolla, and toping the night off with a stand up comedy show at The Comedy Store! Man+ beach + food + laughter = best day EVER.

Superbowl Sunday

My boyfriend and his roommates hosted their very first Superbowl party, and I gotta say, it was one of the best I've been to! Not only was there a ton of great food, but everyone who came was so warm and energetic, it just made the fact that we didn't like either teams playing so much better! Almost everyone brought something to eat, whether that be delicious brownies (shout out to Sarah Johnson and her caramel chocolate brownies!) or Little Caesars pizza (I mean come on, who can beat a $5 pizza?). To top it off, my friend Ryan's birthday was on the same day, so we had our choice of a double chocolate cake (props to Cody), and chocolate cupcakes!

I contributed vegetarian black bean quesadillas, which are super easy to make!

Ingredients:
-1 can of Trader Joes Organic Black Beans
-1/2 green bell pepper chopped
-1/2 sweet onion chopped
-2 teaspoons Trader Joes 21 Seasoning Salute
-2 teaspoons of Lauries Taco Seasoning
-1 cup (or more) of Trader Joes 3 cheese Mexican Blend.
-1 pack of corn tortillas
-Earth Balance

1.) Saute chopped bell peppers and onions in pan over low to medium heat.
2.) In a medium mixing bowl, mash black beans. Add peppers, onions, and seasonings. Combine, then add cheese.
3.) Lightly butter one side of the corn tortillas with Earth Balance and place buttered side down in skillet (Heat should be medium to low).
4.) Add black bean mix to the corn tortillas, and add a little extra cheese to hold the sides together after you fold them. (Be sure to not add too much mix otherwise your tortillas will crack in the fold and your mix will come out).
5.) For a large party, I usually cut the Black Bean Quesadillas into halves, or thirds in order to make sure that there are enough to go around. Serve with salsa, and guacamole!

starbucks

Welp. It happened. I fought it for so long, but I finally jumped on the Starbucks bandwagon. I was first reeled in by their holiday drinks a few years ago, but once the holiday season ended, it was back to Coffee Bean for me. But now, with the deadly combination of their new Blonde (YEW!) Veranda Roast, served in their newest Valentines Day holiday cups, I now have new motivation to wake up early and join the millions of Americans who surge to the Bucks for their morning caffeine fix. Starbucks, you've got me.

Dream Day

We had one of the nicest days I've experienced this winter in San Diego this past weekend. Cody, Alex, Erica and I met up in Cardiff on Saturday, pigged out on some Acai Bowls, and overall just hung out enjoying the warm weather. Followed by a surf session at the cliffs that evening topped off an already amazing day! Love this place
